Have the desire to support Italian culture in your community? Become a volunteer to help make this year’s Festa Italiana NC a day to remember! Descriptions of the volunteer opportunities are listed below. Please use the Volunteer Registration button below to sign up for a shift!

Volunteer Roles

  • Beer Truck (21+ Years of Age)

    Responsibilities:

    Help set up the beer truck.

    Assist chair during Festa open hours (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.).

    Ensure sufficiency of cups.

    Check wristbands on customers.

    Ensure no non-Festa drinks are in the Festa area.

    Help clean up the area at the end of Festa (7 p.m.).

    Provide any other requests for help by the chair.

  • Cash Raffle Booth

    Preparation:

    Set up booth with chairs, tables, and raffle spinner at 9:30 a.m.

    Arrange tables in front and rear.

    Place coverings on all tables.

    Display charity information and understand its mission.

    Ensure sufficient pens and clipboards.

    During the Event:

    Sell raffle tickets.

    Use clipboards to ease ticket filling.

    Sell tickets and place stubs in the raffle spinner.

    Learn to use Square for credit card payments.

    Ensure credit card is returned to the attendee.

    Encourage ticket sales.

    Ensure the raffle spinner is ready at 6:45 p.m.

    Cleanup:

    Take down banners, signs, etc.

    Dispose of table coverings.

    Clean the area and put all garbage in trash bins.

  • Children's Area (All Ages)

    Area Setup:

    Help set up tables, chairs, sports areas, and materials for various activities.

    Supervision:

    Guide kids to different areas.

    Direct and supervise kids throughout the area.

    Explain bocce rules and supervise games.

    Coordinate soccer drills.

    Assist with arts and crafts (e.g., making pasta necklaces, coloring pages).

    Tear Down and Cleaning:

    Put materials away and clean up.

  • Galbani Cooking Stage

    8 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Setup

    Set up tables, banners, audience chairs, AV system, and cooking equipment.

    Ensure all materials are placed per chair’s direction.

    Confirm AV system is fully operational.

    11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Cooking Demos

    Set up for each cooking demo.

    Portion and serve food samples.

    Clean up after each demo.

    6 to 7 p.m.: Cleanup

    Clean all equipment after the last cooking demo.

    Remove banners and pack up all equipment.

  • Infrastructure

    Day Before Festa:

    Load the truck at the storage area in Cary

    Transport items to Festa location

    Reload the truck after Festa to return items to storage

    Day of Festa:

    Unload the truck and distribute labeled boxes to designated areas

    Set up tents for Festa booths

    Arrange tables and chairs in Festa areas

    Set up chairs for the Entertainment Stage and Galbani Stage

    Assist with general setup from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (banners, decorations)

    Help with cleanup from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Merchandise Booth

    Beginning of the Day:

    Move merchandise to tables.

    Unpack and arrange merchandise as per chair’s directions.

    Familiarize with all items and their prices.

    Learn to use Square for payment.

    During the Day:

    Assist customers in finding items.

    Complete sales with cash or credit/debit card using Square.

    Ensure customers receive purchased items.

    Provide change for cash sales and return credit/debit cards.

    Engage visitors to encourage sales.

    End of the Day:

    Pack up remaining merchandise per chair’s directions.

    Ensure the area is as clean as at the start.

  • Wine and Bellini Booth (21+ Years of Age)

    Preparations:

    Wear volunteer shirts while in the booth.

    Mount large signs showing prices.

    Ensure inventory of Festa glasses.

    Keep a hidden supply of plastic glasses.

    Sales and Regulations:

    Handle either cash or credit card transactions.

    Be familiar with Square device.

    Verify wristbands before serving customers.

    Serve wine in Festa glasses only.

    Use plastic glasses if Festa glasses run out.

    Customers keep their glass; do not accept returns.

    Do not give plastic glasses when selling bottles.

    Do not encourage on-site bottle consumption.

    Do not accept wine vouchers.

  • Wrist Band Table (21+ Years of Age)

    Responsibilities:

    Display signs showing age restrictions.

    Provide wristbands.

    Verify age with valid government-issued ID.

    Place wristbands directly on attendees.

    Do not hand wristbands to attendees.
