Allegro Dance artistic director and founder, Anna Harsh, is a professional dancer, award-winning choreographer, and author. Allegro Dance was formed out of Anna’s love and inspiration of being an Italian-American. Her Italian roots and traditions influence her choreography and her desire to preserve stories of family heritage with pride.
Anna holds a Master of Arts degree in communication from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance from Slippery Rock University, and she is a certified STOTT PILATES instructor, as well as a E-RYT 200 yoga instructor.
Having published in Dance Spirit Magazine, her choreographic work has been recognized in Dance Magazine and Danza Italia. In 2013, Anna received the Excellence in Education award from Marshall University and the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival.
Anna has been seen in Ambassador Magazine, FRA NOI, and Italian America magazine.
She travels throughout the United States and Italy for extensive research on Italian culture to find and archive traditional dances to share through performances and workshops.
